A suit is not something you want to try pinching pennies on. A cheap suit will look cheap. Worse yet it won’t last. If you plan on spending $300 or more dollars on a suit you should be able to get something that will both look good on and last.
What Color
It can be tricky picking what color your suit should be especially if you are only buying one suit. Gray is the ideal color for someone that only needs one suit. Gray can be dressed up or down and it can look both casual or formal if need be. Navy is a good alternative to gray and it is also versatile.
Style
When selecting a jacket it is best to avoid double breasted and opt for a single breasted suit. Double breasted is too formal and not versatile enough if you need your suit for multiple occasions. Opt for one or two buttons on the jacket. Avoid three buttons as they look dated.
Weight
Ideally you want your suit to be made of 100 percent wool. A wool blend works well too. You want a wool that has a twist of 100 or higher because the suit will be sturdier and more breathable.
